Pairing your Honda Civic Bluetooth to your Phone

We asked Ben Skirtech, our Honda Certified Master Tech at Patty Peck Honda to demonstrate how to pair the 2012 Honda Civic Bluetooth (standard on the 2012 Civic EX, EX-L and Si) with an approved cell phone.

Once you watch Ben set up both the iPhone and HTC Phone you will see that Honda has made this process very simple on the new Civic. Here is what you need:

Approved cellular Phone – A list of compatible phones can be found at handsfreelink.honda.com
Music on your smart phone if you want to try out the streaming audio, it is a great feature for handsfree music.
Your phone’s Bluetooth setting turned on
Your Phones Bluetooth in discovery mode

Now just press the PHONE button on the steering wheel, let the phone and Civic do the rest. Watch this short video to see the process in action.

This system has voice recognition capability that will store up to 50 contacts per phone within the system. Certain phones with phonebook export capability may transfer their entire contact list into the system’s memory (up to 1,000 names and 10,000 phone numbers) which can be password-protected for extra security. You will also be able to stream audio from your Bluetooth device directly to the audio system. Just as easy as changing the radio you will be able to change tracks with the steering wheel-mounted controls, keep in mind that not all phones are compatible.
